What you will be able to do

Sessions are designed around your goals: based on what you need, we spend more time on modelling, on printing and casting, or on running your own pieces end to end. There is no fixed identical curriculum. By the end of a 10-session pack, brand owners commonly reach production-ready jewellery in Rhino: bands, signets, settings, pavé layouts, pendants and earrings. You will export clean files for a 3D printer or a caster, know your printer, your resin, and your file checks, render product-quality images for marketing, and price your CAD work confidently. Every session is 1:1, taught against your own design briefs, not generic exercises.

Who it is for

  • ·Bench jewellers moving into CAD without leaving the bench behind.
  • ·Designers who want production-ready files, not pretty pictures.
  • ·Jewellers ready to charge for CAD work as a service line.
  • ·Apprentices and trade entrants wanting to leap-frog the slow self-taught route.
  • ·Anyone reading The CAD/CAM Jeweller who wants 1:1 guidance through the practical chapters.

What we cover

1

Rhino interface and modelling fundamentals

Viewport, navigation, basic curves, reference images. The right setup so the rest of the work goes quickly.

2

Surfaces from curves

Sweep, revolve, loft, extrude. From a flat sketch to a band, a signet, an organic shank.

3

Boolean operations and settings

Union, difference, intersection. Bezels, claws, full bezels, half-bezels. The setting toolkit.

4

Gemstone libraries and pavé

Standard stone sizes, placing and arraying stones, pavé layouts, eternity bands.

5

Pendants, earrings, and complex objects

Multiple objects, layers and organisation. Hinged elements. Mirror and array workflows.

6

3D printer choice, resin, and file prep

Which printer, which resin, for which job. Wall thickness checks, STL export, orientation and supports.

7

Casting handoff

What casters need, in what format. Spruing decisions. Working with UK casters and pricing realistically.

8

Your own workflow

The final sessions are spent running your own pieces end to end. You leave with a tested workflow, plus product renders ready for your shop and your socials.
